Privacy policy
Karimen EN (karimenen.com) sells English practice papers for Japan's driving licence written tests. We collect the minimum needed to take payment and email you the files. We set no cookies of our own, run no advertising or cross-site tracking scripts, and never sell or rent personal data. The only analytics is Cloudflare's cookieless page-view counter, described below.
Who is responsible
The site is operated by Karimen EN. For anything in this policy, including requests to see or delete your data, email hello@karimenen.com.
What we collect, and why
| Buying papers | Checkout runs on Stripe. Stripe collects your email address, card details and billing country. We never see your card number. Stripe passes us your email address, the amount paid, the papers you chose and a payment reference, which we use to send your files and keep sales records. |

| Free paper | The email address you type into the form, used to send Paper 07 and one follow-up email about four days later suggesting the paid papers. The first email contains a link that cancels the follow-up, and no other email is ever sent. Cloudflare's rate limiter counts requests per IP address (three per minute) to stop abuse; we do not store the IP ourselves. |
| Email delivery | Our emails are sent through Resend. Resend keeps sending logs (recipient address, subject, delivery status). If an email bounces or fails, Resend notifies us and we receive an alert containing your address so we can resend the files by hand. |
| Download links | For large orders and some mobile-carrier addresses we send download links instead of attachments. The link contains an expiry date and the list of papers, signed so it cannot be altered. It contains no personal data and stops working 30 days after purchase. |
| Support email | Anything you write to hello@karimenen.com, including your address and message, kept while we deal with it. |
| Hosting logs | The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes your IP address, browser type and the pages you request for security and to serve the site. We add no cookies or local storage. |
| Analytics | Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless script that counts page views and records the page, referrer, browser type, device type and country. It uses no cookies, no fingerprinting and no personal identifiers, and cannot follow you across sites. |
| Fonts | Pages load the Archivo typeface from Google Fonts, so your browser sends a request, including your IP address, to Google's servers. |
Who processes data for us
- Stripe (payments and receipts). Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the checkout page.
- Resend (sending our emails and reporting bounces).
- Cloudflare (hosting, security, rate limiting, cookieless analytics, and storage of the PDF files).
- Purelymail (the mailbox that receives hello@karimenen.com).
- Google (fonts only).
These providers operate servers outside Japan, including in the United States, so your data is transferred there under their contractual safeguards. We share data with no one else, and we run no advertising, remarketing or newsletters.
How long we keep it
- Payment records in Stripe: as long as Japanese tax and accounting law requires.
- Free-paper requests: not stored in any database of ours. Resend holds the scheduled follow-up until it is sent or cancelled, and keeps its sending logs.
- Delivery alerts and support emails: deleted once the matter is closed, normally within a few months.
Your rights
You can ask what personal data we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, by emailing hello@karimenen.com from the address concerned. We answer within a reasonable time and normally within 30 days. Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information applies. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability apply, our basis for processing is performance of the contract (deliveries) and legitimate interest (security, abuse prevention), and you may complain to your local supervisory authority.
Children
The site is for people preparing for a driving licence and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We will post any change to this policy on this page with a new effective date.
