Which tests does it prepare for?

All three of Japan's licence written tests. The karimen (provisional licence) test and the gaimen kirikae (foreign licence conversion) knowledge check use exactly this format: 50 true-or-false questions, 30 minutes, 45 to pass. The honmen (full licence) test draws on the same traffic rules in a longer paper of 90 statements plus 5 illustrated questions in 50 minutes, also with a 90% pass mark, so the same practice applies.

Is the mock test in English?

Yes, every question and explanation is in English, the same as the English paper offered at prefectural licence centres in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Osaka, Aichi and most other prefectures.

How is it scored?

One point per question, no negative marking. 45 or more out of 50 passes, the same 90% threshold as the real test. The clock submits your answers automatically when it reaches zero.

Can I take it more than once?

Yes. The question order is shuffled on every attempt, and your best score is remembered on this device.

Where do the questions come from?

Eighteen are from Paper 07, the free paper, and thirty-two are drawn from the nine paid topic papers, so the mock covers signs, right of way, speed, parking, pedestrians, overtaking, licence rules and hazards the way the real test does.

What if I fail?

Most people fail the real test by one or two marks, and nearly always on wording. Read the explanation under every question you missed, then study the topic papers for your weak areas and sit the mock again.
